About me

Hello
I am Edurne, founder of this music school.
I created Clave del Alma so that you can discover and enjoy music as much as I do, embarking together on an exciting journey of musical knowledge.

My Career and Musical Training

My musical journey began at a very young age. I am a conservatory-trained music teacher specialising in piano and opera singing. I trained in Madrid at the Centro Superior de Música Progreso Musical, affiliated with the Adolfo Salazar Conservatory, a place where a deep love for music is in the air.

I have been an active part of the music scene as a member of the Living for Music choir in Madrid until 2024, performing works by Gabriel Fauré and Karl Jenkins’ Requiem, among others. In addition, I had the opportunity to participate in my childhood in the International Habaneras and Polyphony Competition in Torrevieja.

As a pianist, I particularly enjoy performing romantic works such as Chopin’s Nocturnes and contemporary pieces such as Manuel de Falla’s La Vida Breve. I also feel comfortable with classical works from the late Romantic period, such as Ludwig Van Beethoven’s La Tempestad.

As a soprano, my repertoire includes opera, notably the role of Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and, in zarzuela, the role of Rosina in J. Serrano’s La Canción del Olvido. I am also passionate about sacred music, the French Impressionist chanson of Claude Debussy and Reinaldo Hahn, and Schumann’s Lieder.
I am currently a member of the Compañía Lírica Alicantina.

My Commitment to Music Therapy: Music as Medicine

Beyond performing and teaching, I firmly believe that music is the medicine of the soul, and science confirms this. I trained as a Music Therapy Technician at the Nursing Association, registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare (No. 04.46-1645) and the Ministry of the Presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana (No. 5760).
My primary goal is to help people through music. I constantly research the benefits of music therapy through scientific studies and strive to constantly update my knowledge, because I know that music is vital for improving our physical and mental health.
I have been fortunate to tour hospitals in such important institutions as the Gregorio Marañón University Hospital and the Provincial Rehabilitation Center of the Community of Madrid, collaborating with the “Música en Vena” initiative. In these experiences, I have performed a varied repertoire that includes Rumors of the Cove, Preludes and Fugues from J. Sebastian Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, Mozart Sonatas, and Chopin Etudes, among other pieces.

My Inspiration: A legacy of music and heart

My grandfather, a tenor with a prodigious voice and an immense heart, was my great source of inspiration. We often sang together, and I was fascinated by his stories about the great artists of his time with whom he shared the stage, such as Alfredo Kraus and Luis Mariano, and even “the little nightingale”, Joselito.
He was the one who instilled in me the incalculable value of music, along with so many other principles that guide my life and work today.”

‘His musical and human legacy is the driving force behind my dedication to music.’
